“SPEECH FOR A LIFETIME”
It was the beginning of People’s Power Revolution when my mother gave birth to me. It was
the 16th of February 1986
when a cute, little angel was came to Mrs. Roselyn and Mr. Elmerglenn Tumbokon. And they named it “Arianee Glensyl.”
It sounds like unique right? But anyway, this young girl has a unique smile and every people who would meet here will surely approach her. A very active, naughty and a funny person were described by her friends. She believes in “Small but terrible” but we think this girl has a soft touched heart. And believe me she’s actually a shy and a quiet type of person. But when you know her, you were surely shock at her.
In fact, she remember the times when she was 10 months old, her mother saw her fell downstairs and crying because of finding her pacifier and take note, that time she was afraid of the dark so when everybody who will leave her in the dark will surely become crazy when they will heard her crying. When she was 5 years old, they had a get together party in their family. Her auntie and her uncle were the one who encourage her to dance. So, this young, cute little girl danced “Lambada” gracefully and everybody laughed at her when the song was already started. Her favorite grandfather who had passed away was also the one who encouraged her to sing. She remembered what her Grandfather told to her, “Gleng, I know you’re a talented person, so whenever your down and alone I’m just here at your side and I will never leave you. I will support you what ever happens to me. I’m just here and I love you. Remember what I told you just do your best and God will do the rest.” Hmmm?? She really loves her Lolo. She also remember the time when she always watched “Batibot” and she will asked her yaya like this, “Yaya, where’s my dede?” Then after 15 minutes, my yaya came back and brought her dede. But Gleng – Gleng was got slept. Since her childhood, she cherished all the love and care that was given by her parents. And she may say that she had a perfect family. She wouldn’t ask for more because she had them already and she loves them so much.
“Love is so kind that it teaches you to sacrifice. Love is so great because it provides you happiness. It is rude because it provides a barrier among friends. Love leaves you pain, burden and tears. Love teaches you to hate and eventually, Love teaches you to be strong in order to survive and love again.” When somebody texted me, this kind of message caught my attention. And I said, “Wow!” this message totally touched my heart and it really relates my entire life. As a human being, we certainly failed and succeed. Some of us experience these kinds of trial in our lives. Yes, love brings you to everything. Love gives you happiness and makes you complete.
When she entered her college, she learned many things in her life. She started to explore everything. Still, her family was there for her and guided her in so many ways. There, she started to gain friends. Friends that she can actually lean on through good and bad times. Friends where she may truly belong. They are also her second family where she could easily share all her thoughts and feelings. They are the one who gives her advice and supports her in emotional way. But something was missing. And she really doesn’t know what it is. It makes her feel incomplete. So, she entered to a relationship where my parents and my friends supported me. The first relationship that I had wasn’t good. That time, she really fell down and she really doesn’t know what to do. She does not to take care of herself anymore. But someone enlightened her and that person gave her another life. She thought he is the right man for her. Because he is the one who makes her smile in her life and he is always there when she needed him. Month’s passes by, he walked away and left her. She was totally shocked. And she really doesn’t know what was really happened. She almost cried because she didn’t accept the fact that their done. But she knows here in her heart, God has a purpose why he left her.
In spite of this, my friends and my family are still there for her. And she is lucky because they never leave her and they support her to stand out. Yes, loves gives you pain, burden and tears but she learned to be strong for her to survive and love again. Before she ends up her speech, she just wants to sing her favorite line in song entitled “Alive” and here it is. “I guess I’ve found my way it’s simple when its right feel lucky just to be here tonight and happy just be me and to be alive.” Have a nice day!!!
